In a note, the secretariat stated that “Visual Propaganda Aérea is authorized to carry out advertising, but did not have authorization to carry out this advertising campaign”.
The company that owned the plane that crashed into the sea at Copacabana Beach, in Rio de Janeiro, in the early afternoon of this Saturday, the 27th, did not have authorization for the advertising campaign shown on the day of the accident and will be charged with irregular advertising, informed the Municipal Public Order Secretariat (Seop).
In a note, the secretariat stated that “Visual Propaganda Aérea is authorized to carry out advertising, but did not have authorization to carry out this advertising campaign”. For this reason, she will be fined for irregular advertising, informed Seop.
According to the ministry, although the company has approval for commercial advertising activity, every campaign also needs to be licensed, regardless of whether it is aerial, on billboards or on land. “They are different documentation”, explained the secretariat
The ministry added that there is no information about which advertisement was broadcast by the plane on Saturday, as the request for advertising was not made.
The propaganda plane crash occurred between stations 3 and 4, near Rua Santa Clara and Copacabana Palace. At the time of the accident, there were jet skis and other vessels in the water. The search for the pilot mobilized more than 30 agents and lasted around two hours. He, however, was found dead.
The deputy mayor of the south zone, Bernardo Rubião, published a video on social media in which he stated that, according to information provided by the company that owns the aircraft, this would have been the pilot’s first flight in this type of plane.
“The Fire Department confirmed that they found the wreckage and the victim, who unfortunately did not survive the accident. According to the company, it would be this pilot’s first flight in this type of aircraft, and that he would be alone on the plane. We continue to provide all the necessary support”, says Rubião’s publication.
The report contacted the city hall to confirm the information, but has not yet received a response.
