Quick action by the Military Police resulted in the arrest of Kaio Mysael Souza França and Ester Lima de Souza, both aged 19, after a series of robberies of app drivers and an armed chase recorded between Saturday night and Sunday morning, in Rio Branco.
According to information from the 3rd Battalion of the PM, the incident began after Copom reported the theft of a silver Fiat Pálio, used by an app driver, in the Ouricuri neighborhood. With the alert, the garrisons intensified patrolling and located the vehicle on Estrada Jarbas Passarinho. Upon receiving an order to stop, the occupants disobeyed and fled at high speed.

During police monitoring, the suspects fired firearms at the garrison on several roads in the region, including Uirapuru and Hildebrando de Souza streets. There was a retaliation by the police, but the car ended up being lost from sight. Shortly afterwards, the police were informed that the vehicle had collided with the wall of a residence, in the Eldorado neighborhood.
At the scene of the accident, the military found the car with the front part damaged and the airbag activated. A .32 caliber revolver, a white Samsung cell phone and a cap were seized inside the car, which was allegedly worn by one of the suspects during the escape.

The searches continued in the region and, with support from Rotam, Kaio and Ester were located and approached inside another application vehicle, shortly after leaving a residence. The resident informed the police that the two quickly entered the property asking for shelter while requesting transportation. During the approach, the pair confessed to participating in the escape and shooting at the garrison.
Investigations also pointed to the suspects’ involvement in a second robbery, this time against the driver of a white Chevrolet Onix, taken after a race and later found abandoned in the Vila Betel neighborhood. With Kaio, the police located cell phones belonging to the victims and money stolen during the robberies.
The driver of the Fiat Pálio, who had been captured by the criminals, was located and recognized Kaio as one of the perpetrators. The suspect also reported the involvement of a third party, who managed to escape after the collision with the stolen vehicle.
In view of the facts, the two prisoners, the victims, the seized weapon and the recovered vehicles were sent to the Flagrantes Police Station (Defla), where the case will be under the responsibility of the Acre Civil Police.
