We’re talking about a carbonara-style potato casserole. It’s a tasty dish that can be prepared quickly without a complicated recipe. The combination of potatoes, bacon, sauce and onion gives a distinctive flavor and is easy to serve.

We can also modify the recipe at our discretion, adding selected vegetables or spices. This is a great universal recipe that everyone will love from the first bite. To make the casserole we will need the following :

  • 1 kg of potatoes,
  • 100 g grated parmesan,
  • 200-300 g of cream 30%,
  • 1 egg,
  • 100 g of onion,
  • 150 g smoked bacon,
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 teaspoons of chopped parsley,
  • 1 teaspoon of salt,
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper.

Preparing our delicious casserole for New Year’s Eve, We start by boiling the potatoes in their jackets. Then we leave them to cool, peel them and cut them into slices. Mix the parmesan, cream and egg in a bowl.

The next step is Melting the butter in a cast iron pan and frying the diced bacon until brown. Add the chopped onion and fry until everything softens. Remove the pan from the heat and then add the previously prepared mixture sauce with cream and Parmesan cheese, mixing thoroughly.

Place layers of potatoes in an ovenproof dish, layered with sauce. Sprinkle the top with an additional portion of parmesan, depending on your preferences. Put the whole thing in the oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius and bake for about 20-25 minutes.
