The leaders of the European Commission (EC), Ursula Von der Leyen, and the European Council, Antonio Costa, showed their support for the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, before the meeting he will hold this Sunday with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, focused on the draft of the peace plan.
Von der Leyen and Costa participated in a telematic meeting with Zelensky on Saturday night along with other European leaders such as the French president, Emmanuel Macron; the German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, or the Polish President, Donald Tusk, among others, as reported by the Ukrainian leader himself on his social networks.
“Together with the European leaders, I spoke with President Zelensky to coordinate ahead of tomorrow’s meeting with President Trump. The European Union’s support for Ukraine will not waver. In war, in peace and in reconstruction,” Costa said in a publication on the social network X.
