The Venezuelan dictator accuses the United States of wanting to steal the country’s resources. Nicolás Maduro maintains the rhetoric of reaction to a possible American attack while more military resources are concentrated.
More and more equipment is arriving in Puerto Rico. A United States Air Force drone, MQ-9 Reaper, with autonomy for 27 thousand flight hours, up to 50 thousand feet, is an example of this equipment.
It can carry a load of 1,700 kilos, including explosives, missiles and ammunition. Each Reaper costs $56 million and is operated remotely by two people.
Another, in Caracas, denounces objectives of colonial rule.
“It is impossible for sectors of North American power to manufacture a virtual reality and impose on Bolívar’s Venezuela a model of colonial and slave domination to steal its natural resources”, highlights Maduro.
Despite having the support of countries like Russia, Nicolás Maduro knows he needs the sympathy of part of the American people. For what the appeal makes: “The United States press, listen to me, pay attention, there is a deep Venezuela that you cannot ignore, a strong and powerful Venezuela.”
There seems to be consensus in society. According to a survey carried out by Data Viva, 90% of Venezuelans oppose any military intervention or naval blockade by the United States.
