According to information, five popular actors end up in the Slovak National Theater (SND) – Roman Poláčik, Táňa Pauhofová, Daniel Zulčák, Martin Šalacha and Anna Magdaléna Hroboňová.
The official reason for the resignations is consolidation, but the actors say that it is not about savings and that it is an attempt to break up a group that is critical of the theater management and the Ministry of Culture. Pauhofová drew attention to this step before Christmas in an interview for .
“I can confirm that as of January 1, I will no longer be a member of the SND Drama Theatre. In the future, I will cooperate with the theater on the basis of external contracts,” stated Polish boy for the SME newspaper and added that he has no idea why he was fired. “I didn’t in any way violate the work rules, the code of ethics, or anything like that. The only thing I did was I had a lot of productions and I tried to do my job as best as I could day after day,” he explained.
