On Monday, shortly before 1:30 a.m., a drunk driver crashed between the villages of Dunajská Lužná and Miloslavov in the Senec district of the Bratislava Region. The police subsequently charged 42-year-old Petr from Nitra with endangerment under the influence of an addictive substance. TASR was informed about this by Bratislava regional police spokesman Lukáš Pecek.

As he stated, according to the findings of the police, the driver probably did not pay enough attention to driving the vehicle when passing the curve, as a result of which it went off the road, where it overturned several times. “Subsequently, the driver was subjected to a breathalyzer test, during which a value of 0.66 milligrams of alcohol per liter of exhaled air was measured in his breath,” added Pecek.
The police therefore escorted the man to the relevant police department. An authorized member of the traffic accident department of the District Traffic Inspectorate in Senec subsequently brought charges for the offense of endangerment under the influence of a drug. If found guilty, the accused faces a prison sentence of up to one year.
„Once again, we remind you that by driving under the influence of alcohol you take unnecessary risks and endanger not only yourself and other road users, but you can also cause property damage that might not have happened at all. Therefore, once again – under no circumstances drive under the influence of alcohol,” warned Pecek.
