The Chinese Army announced this Monday (29) that it will carry out military exercises around Taiwan, in what it called “a severe warning” against separatist forces on the island.
The Chinese military also criticized the possibility of “external interference” in the region, amid the sale of weapons from the United States to Taiwan and the willingness expressed by Japanese Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, to come out in defense of the autonomous territory.
“It is a legitimate and necessary action to safeguard China’s sovereignty and national unity,” the People’s Liberation Army’s Eastern Theater Command said in a statement.
