What is Filipe Luís’ new salary at Flamengo?
Filipe Luís would have presented Flamengo with a series of demands to sign his contract renewal, expressing the desire for his remuneration to be equivalent to that of Abel Ferreira, from Palmeiras. Flamengo must bear a monthly cost of R$2.5 million to maintain the professional and his respective technical committee.
This change would have represented an appreciation of almost ten times in relation to the salaries that Filipe Luís had seen until then. Furthermore, the proposed scenario would have included a clause for the payment of a commission to his manager, Jorge Mendes, corresponding to 10% of the total value of the negotiation, as reported by the newspaper “O Globo”.
– The positive outcome was only possible because there was, on both sides, a genuine desire to continue the project, in addition to the joint willingness to converge interests and build a balanced and sustainable agreement, which would meet the coach’s wishes, but also the club’s governance policies established by BAP (Luiz Eduardo Baptista, president of Flamengo) – commented José Boto, executive director of football at Flamengo.
