The Russian embassy in Kenya released on social media a video created using artificial intelligence in which Russian President Vladimir Putin appears dressed as Santa Claus distributing gifts to different world leaders.
The video was published days after Christmas and is just over 1 minute long. The scenes show Putin delivering gift boxes that, when opened, reveal different objects for each head of state portrayed.
The sequence begins with the President of China, Xi Jinping, who receives two Christmas ornaments with the symbols of the yuan and the ruble. When placing them on a Christmas tree, an ornament with the dollar symbol falls to the ground.

Then, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, appears receiving a combat plane of Russian origin. The then president of the United States, Donald Trump, appears soon after and opens a photo frame with a photo of himself next to Putin.
The video also shows Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro receiving sound equipment. When you turn it on, a song starts with the message “not war, just peace”, while the character reacts animatedly.
Next, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan opens a gift containing a snow globe with an image of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un receives a sword accompanied by a thank you note.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, appears in one of the last scenes. Unlike the others, he opens a box containing handcuffs, which are placed on his wrists before the image shows the character behind bars.
The end of the video shows Hungary’s Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, receiving a voucher that refers to gas supplies.
In the publication that accompanies the video, the embassy states that the Christmas period is a time to give gifts, saying that friends receive something positive, while others also receive what corresponds to them.
