A New Year’s Eve party, which also includes guests, is a great opportunity to combine fun with a sensible approach to food. This evening, it is worth serving the youngest snacks that are colorful, handy and easy to eat. They will provide children with energy and well-being for long hours.

Let’s avoid serving food that is too heavy or very sweet, so as not to harm small bellies. Let’s bet instead for natural ingredients, simple forms and mild flavorsthat will allow us to create valuable snacks.

New Year’s Eve snacks for children can be served both salty and sweet. It is important that they are healthy, tasty and attract the attention of children, stimulating their appetite. Here are our suggestions for a children’s menu for this special evening:

  • Yogurt fruit cups – layer natural yogurt, chopped fruit and a bit of muesli into small bowls or cups. We can add a teaspoon of honey or a grated cube of dark chocolate on top.
  • Wrapped tortillas with cheese and vegetables – Spread the tortillas with cream cheese and arrange cucumber, pepper and lettuce slices on them. Roll them up tightly and cut them into small pieces to create “snails” that children like.
  • Mini banana and oat pancakes – crush the banana, add the egg and 2-3 tablespoons of oatmeal. Fry small pancakes in a dry frying pan or with a minimum amount of oil. They can be served with yogurt and fruit.

  • Cheese and cracker balls – mix the sandwich cheese and grated yellow cheese in a bowl. Form small balls from the mass and roll them in crushed crackers. Set aside in the fridge for a while to harden.
  • Mini pizzas with a roll base – cut the rolls in half, spread them with tomato sauce and add e.g. ham, mushrooms and corn. Sprinkle it with cheese and bake it in the oven for a few minutes.
  • Egg muffins with vegetables – beat the eggs in a bowl. Add finely chopped peppers or other vegetables and some grated cheese. Pour the mixture into muffin tins and bake for about a quarter of an hour at 180 degrees Celsius.
