Patients classified as urgent at the Amadora-Sintra hospital today faced waiting times of almost 13 hours for the first observation in general emergencies, according to data from the hospital portal. .
The information available at 08:00 indicated that 19 patients who were awarded the yellow bracelet (urgent) at Hospital Prof. Doctor Fernando da Fonseca (Amadora-Sintra) had to wait 12:41 hours for a first observation.
The 14 patients classified as less urgent (green bracelet) had a waiting time to be seen by a doctor of 19:32 hours.
Also at that time, in Loures, at Hospital Beatriz Ângelo, the 22 users with yellow bracelets were waiting for 07:17 hours.
At Santa Maria Hospital, in Lisbon, the wait for patients classified as urgent was 5:59 hours, while further north, in Vila Nova de Gaia (Porto district), those waiting for their first observation at Santos Silva Hospital had a wait of 4:36 hours.
According to the triage system, very urgent situations (orange bracelet) are recommended for assistance within 10 minutes following triage, while urgent cases (yellow) require 60 minutes and less urgent cases (green) require 120 minutes.
