PSP candidates filmed in a boxing match inside the Torres Novas school

Two candidates for the Public Security Police are at the center of a controversy after being filmed participating in an improvised boxing match inside the PSP Practical School, in Torres Novas. The images show the graduates naked and wearing boxing gloves, fighting in front of dozens of colleagues, some of whom recorded the moment with their cell phones.

The episode reportedly occurred in one of the bathrooms on the school’s premises, outside the spaces intended for sports and after school activities, when there is a mandatory curfew for students on the agent course.

Speaking to Jornal de Notícias, the National Directorate of the PSP confirmed that it was aware of noise and nighttime disturbances in the trainees’ accommodation areas, between the 15th and 19th of December. Following these events, an investigation was opened on the 18th with the aim of investigating the facts and possible responsibilities.

The PSP also clarified that disciplinary proceedings were initiated, totaling eight, highlighting that, so far, there is no evidence that the clashes had any purpose other than recreational. Disciplinary measures, according to the institution, were initiated even before the videos were publicly released.
