The body works best at this temperature. Set it up at home

The room should not be too cold, neither should it be too warm. So what temperature should you set? The World Health Organization has solved this problem by providing a range. The body will work best in such conditions.

It can neither be too low nor too high. If the rooms are too cold, it may cause problems with the circulatory system. In addition, the body then uses more energy to maintain the appropriate body temperature, which translates into… excessive muscle tension, increased blood pressure (due to shrinking blood vessels) and feeling tired. Moreover, the body is then more susceptible to infections.

However, too high a temperature is also not recommended, because leads to drying of the mucous membranes. This also promotes infections, and at night it can make breathing difficult and negatively affect sleep, which affects the functioning of the entire body. The World Health Organization has indicated a range that is the golden mean and allows you to set the temperature at which the body will function best.

The World Health Organization indicates that the appropriate room temperature is between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius. Nevertheless, it is further detailed in terms of the age of the inhabitants:

  • from 18 to 19 degrees C in the case of houses inhabited by adults,
  • from 20 to 21 degrees C, if there are seniors at home,
  • from 22 to 24 degrees C, if there are babies or small children in the rooms.

According to the findings of the World Health Organization, such a range ensures the body works best. It is also worth adapting it to the rooms – the bathroom should be warmer than the room. The most important thing is not to exceed 25 degrees C in any room, nor to cool them below 17 degrees C.
