If we want to save too salty broth, we don’t even have to leave the kitchen to get a product that will help us fix the taste of the soup. It turns out that all you need is a large, raw potato. Then wash it thoroughly, peel it and cut it in half. Throw one of the halves into the pot with the broth.
Due to the fact that potatoes contain a lot of starch, it will act like a natural sponge and absorb salt from the broth, without adding anything that would affect the taste of the dish. Leave it in the pot for about 5-7 minutes, and then take out half the potato and try if it has the right taste.
Often, one piece is enough to make the soup taste good again. In the case, however if this does not happen, throw the other half of the potato into the pot and also let it boil for a few minutes.

When we don’t have potatoes, we can try other methods that also do not require adding water to the broth. Some people, instead of a potato, add a piece of dry bread without the crust to the soup and cook it for a few minutes.. Just like a vegetable, it will absorb excess salt. However, we must keep a close eye on it because it can quickly overcook and remain in the soup.
Of course, to remove excess salt we can also use other root vegetables. A good idea would be to simply add more carrots, celery or parsley to the pot.
