Abin servers question delay in charging Ramagem – 12/30/2025 – Panel

Employees of the (Brazilian Intelligence Agency) question how and why the agency has only now identified the payment of R$10,000 more to the former federal deputy () and started demanding the refund of the amount.

The supposed amount was paid irregularly in 2022, but Ramagem was only notified last Friday (26) about the fact.

Intelligence officers criticize the delay and say that it has become easier to apply a public measure against Ramagem now, when he was convicted of an attempted coup, fled to the USA, lost his mandate as federal deputy and is no longer a public servant.

The notification was made through the Official Gazette of the Union, as Ramagem.

When questioned, Abin says that it paid Ramagem, “when his contract was terminated, around R$10,000 more than he should have.” “The Department of People Management needs to notify you to make such adjustments regarding labor charges that need to be rectified”, says the agency.

The extra payment made by the Union dates back to Ramagem’s time as Abin’s general director, when he accumulated the position’s commission with his salary as a Federal Police delegate.

Agency employees remember that Ramagem left Abin in March 2022 — almost four years ago. Despite the charge, there is also no investigation or PAD (internal administrative process) within the internal affairs department to determine whether the amount was deposited in excess on purpose or by error.

If there is no compensation, they say, Abin will have already missed the deadline to take action to the Labor Court, which is two years. As Ramagem was fired from the Federal Police and is no longer a public servant, Abin will not have much success in the administrative sphere either.

Abin did not respond to the Panel as to how the problem was identified and why only now. In a note, the agency simply stated that the “Department of People Management has exhausted formal collection mechanisms” and that Ramagem must return the amount to the public treasury.
