After sudden flooding, Iaco river shows signs of low tide in Sena Madureira

The water level of the Iaco River, in Sena Madureira, has decreased in the last 24 hours, according to a bulletin from the Municipal Civil Defense. The observed ebb was in the order of 25 centimeters, a percentage considered significant.

On Monday (29) the ruler dawned measuring 13.29 meters, approaching the alert level of 14 meters. This Tuesday (30) this level dropped to 13.04 meters.

The river is monitored daily and the data is sent to the State Civil Defense and also to the National Water Agency (ANA).

Families living in flooded areas of Sena Madureira, especially in the neighborhoods of Praia do Amarílio and Invasion da Vitória, were already beginning to worry due to the advance of the flood. With the ebb, they begin to breathe easier.

At the moment, the Civil Defense’s guidance is for riverside dwellers traveling along the Iaco and other rivers to take extra care with the aim of avoiding flooding of boats.
