If you remember the period of the Polish People’s Republic, a taste may come to your mind Uolong)which was quite popular at one time. Nowadays, hardly anyone reaches for it, which is a mistake, because it has a rich taste and is very healthy.
On top of all this because the substances it contains accelerate metabolism and fat burning. Therefore, you can safely drink it on a reducing diet, even before going to bed, because it does not negatively disturb your sleep rhythm.
Oolong tea (also called oolong or wulong) is a traditional semi-fermented Asian tea, ranging between green and black. Hers are partially oxidized, which makes them stand out with a wide range of flavors.
Depending on the method of production it can be delicate and slightly floral, e.g. greenish Tie Guan Yin tea, or deeper with caramel notes, e.g. darker Da Hong Pao tea.
It is usually imported from China or Taiwan. It is hand-rolled and can be brewed many times (even 4-6 times and its taste will change each time). Oolong is considered one of the most aromatic infusions in the world, which is undoubtedly worth trying.
Oolong is one of the healthiest teas you can drink. It supports digestion and relieves the feeling of heaviness, so it may prove beneficial after fatty meals. It can lower LDL, i.e. “bad” cholesterol.
Oolong tea also has antioxidant properties and supports the circulatory system, thus reducing the risk of heart disease. The ingredients it contains may contribute to lowering blood sugar levels.
Moreover, it has been proven that it gently stimulates metabolism and supports fat burning, even during sleep (this was proven by the award from the University of Tsukuba in Japan, described in detail, among others, in Nutriens magazine in 2020). This may be valuable information for people who want to take care of their figure. You can drink it in the evenings without any worries because it does not significantly disturb your rhythm in a negative way.
It is best to drink oolong tea without any additives, slowly and freshly brewed (although it all depends on your preferences). It is poured with hot, but not boiling water (about 85-95 degrees Celsius) and brewed for 3 minutes until the leaves develop. Then just strain it.
1.5-2 g of tea should be enough for a 250 ml cup. Remember not to throw away the herb after drinking the infusion for the first time. You can pour it a few more times, and each time the taste will be a little milder.
