This Tuesday morning, in the Passo Moro area, in Macugnaga, a cabin of a cable car had a accident: It came too quickly and hit a wall without being able to stop in time.

The accident caused a ricochete – which still reached another cabin that was coming in the opposite direction (there was only one person, who was injured).
The ski slopes are closed, the cable car is suspended. Evacuations will be carried out by helicopter.
Filippo Besozzi, administrator of Macugnaga Trasporti e Servizi, the company that manages the system, has already reacted: “We are carrying out assessments, from the first information that the system did not decelerate correctly when entering the station and hit the station barrier”.
“Fortunately there are no serious injuries, no one’s life is in danger. The person who suffered the most serious injuries was a 59-year-old man, who has a wound on his arm. Other people suffered minor bruises,” he described.
