O Flamengo is considering raising the offer to try to sign Kaio Jorge and does not rule out including Everton Cebolinha in the negotiation. Cruzeiro, in turn, has already expressed interest in the red-and-black left-winger. The information was initially published on the website “ge.com”.
Initially, Flamengo indicated a proposal of around 30 million euros (around R$196 million) for the striker, an amount that would represent the biggest investment in the club’s history in a player. The celestial board, however, refused the investment, and the deal remains open.
Despite the initial refusal, Flamengo did not abandon negotiations for the 23-year-old athlete. The first approach did not involve exactly 30 million euros. Upon hearing from Cruzeiro that there was interest in Cebolinha, 29 years old, the Rio club proposed releasing the striker and paying an additional 22 million euros (approximately R$143 million) for Kaio Jorge.
Cruzeiro did not accept the terms, but the Flamengo continues to study the possibility of increasing the offer and even reaching 30 million euros, in addition to giving up the number 11. This possibility, however, would depend on Cebolinha’s consent.
With less space throughout the season, Cebolinha had more opportunities at the end of the year and presented good performances. The player is looking for more minutes in 2026 and sees a possible transfer as an alternative. Still, sources linked to the Minas Gerais club claim that he is not a priority at the moment. Another Flamengo name that Cruzeiro likes is Luiz Araújo, but the red-black board rules out trading him, as the striker is considered an important piece by Filipe Luís.
Even with the possible increase in the proposal, the values considered by Flamengo are still far from what Cruzeiro intends to release Kaio Jorge. The Minas Gerais club stipulated that it would only accept opening negotiations starting at 50 million euros (around R$328 million), as determined.

How much is Kaio Jorge’s termination fine?
Flamengo’s former wish, Kaio Jorge had already entered the club’s radar in February, but talks did not progress at that time. The striker has a contract with Cruzeiro until June 2029, and the Celeste board does not plan to negotiate him in this window. The player’s maintenance was a direct request from coach Tite when he took charge of the team. The termination fine is considered very high, close to 100 million euros (R$652 million).
Without an immediate need to sell, Cruzeiro avoids treating athletes as non-negotiable, but also shows no interest in strengthening direct competitors in Brazilian football – unless through a proposal outside market standards. It is precisely this scenario that Flamengo is trying to achieve.
With record revenues of R$2 billion last season, the Rio club has financial support. President Luiz Eduardo Baptista has already declared that Flamengo could invest up to R$1 billion in reinforcements. Even if the negotiation does not progress, the movement would serve as a demonstration of strength in the market.
