SHMÚ has issued several warnings: Attention, even a gale will blow HERE!

On the mountains in some localities, you must still expect a gale. Meteorologists have issued warnings of the first and second degree for several districts. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) informed about it on the website.

The second level warning against wind in the mountains concerns the districts of Tvrdošín, Liptovský Mikuláš, Ružomberok, Poprad, Brezno and Banská Bystrica. Strong winds with an average speed of 90 to 105 kilometers per hour are expected there. The warning is provisionally valid from Tuesday 10 p.m. to Wednesday (December 31) 9 a.m., for now in localities Level 1 warning is in effect. It is still issued for the districts of Námestovo, Žilina, Martin, and Dolný Kubín.

However, it is windier in some districts, specifically in Poprad and Kežmark, even outside the mountains. A level one wind warning is in effect there. Meteorologists also warned against the formation of snowdrifts in several places in central and northern Slovakia.
