British mother-of-two Sophie Hunt, 34, died two days after undergoing a tummy tuck and Brazilian butt lift (BBL) in Turkey. Sophie Hunt underwent the procedure on March 7, 2022 at a private hospital in Istanbul. After surgery she suffered three heart attacks and multiple organ failurewhich led to her death, writes the portal
The family of the deceased believes that she was not suitable for the operation. According to hospital documents Sophie Hunt’s EKG showed an abnormal heart rhythmwhich she was told was not healthy. The grieving mother added that her daughter lost consciousness and had swelling in her hands after the operationwhile the complications were associated with the administered BBL injection. The coroner at Northampton Crown Court said he did not have the authority to fully investigate what happened at the Turkish hospital.
Sophie Hunt underwent abdominoplasty and liposuction while losing consciousness. She was resuscitated, but during transport by ambulance to another hospital with a specialized intensive care unit, she suffered second cardiac arrest. She later died of respiratory and organ failure. A Turkish inquest has confirmed that Sophie Hunt’s death was caused by complications from abdominoplasty and liposuction. A post-mortem was carried out by expert Professor West after the body was repatriated to the UK.
The medical examiner stated that the exact cause of the cardiac and pulmonary arrest is unclear, but is likely related to the surgical procedures. “Sophie Hunt dies of complications from surgery performed abroad” said the expert.
