Carlos Areia 'breaks silence' after hospitalization: “I never stopped feeling that I was in safe hands…”

Carlos Areia fractured his ankle on December 5th and, after days of a lot of “pain” and “uncertainty”, he returned home on December 24th.

Throughout his hospitalization, it was his wife, Rosa Bela, who informed followers of his health status, however, on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 30th, Carlos Areia decided to ‘break the silence’ about everything he experienced.

“Today marks a week since I underwent surgery and I couldn’t let this moment pass without offering a deep, heartfelt and public thank you to all the doctors, nurses and assistants at the Orthopedics Service at Garcia de Orta Hospital”he began by writing, in the long text he shared on his Instagram account.

Carlos Areia then highlighted “the care, attention and affection” with which he was treated by all the professionals he met throughout these weeks, particularly the team of doctors who were in charge of his operation.

“It was a difficult two weeks. Two weeks of pain, uncertainty, waiting and fighting”he admitted, revealing that, during his hospitalization, he also suffered a setback. “The operation had to be postponed because, in the midst of this turbulence, I caught Flu A… but I never stopped feeling that I was in safe hands. Thank you, doctors, for your kindness, attention and all the support during the operation and post-operatively. A huge thank you”he stressed.

After highlighting the names of all the people who were by his side and by his wife, Rosa Bela, highlighting that they “deserve recognition”, Carlos Areia was focused on his recovery: “I’m now at home, recovering, with the necessary calm and focus on getting well. Looking forward to returning to the stage, to life, to what I love to do. Everything in due time. But I miss it so much. Wait for me… because in 2026 I’m back! With more strength, more gratitude and even more love for life and all this thanks to the Orthopedics Service at Hospital Garcia de Orta. Thanks. Decoration. ❤️”he concluded.
