The president of China, Xi Jinping, assured this Wednesday in his New Year’s Eve speech that “reunification” with Taiwan is a “trend” that has no turning back thanks to the “blood” ties that unite its citizens.

In this regard, the president of Taiwan, Lai Ching Te, warned this Wednesday that China’s latest military maneuvers are putting at risk not only the stability of the region, but also “peace in the world.”
“China’s authoritarian expansion and increasing coercion have generated great uncertainty and endangered regional stability, while affecting navigation, trade and peace in the world,” said the Taiwanese president during a military graduation.
The Chinese president addressed the population with a triumphalist speech in which he highlighted achievements in technology, from artificial intelligence to the chip industry. “China has become one of the world’s fastest growing economies in terms of innovation capacity,” he declared in his speech, in which he also praised the development of the aerospace and defense sectors: “Our economic, technological and national defense capabilities, along with our overall national strength, have reached new heights.”
“All this has made China one of the fastest growing economies with innovative capabilities. Innovations and creations have not only fostered quality productive forces, but have also colored our lives,” stressed the president of the second world power.
