The great revelation of Brazilian bodybuilding in 2025 was, without a doubt, Lucas Garcia. Professional since 2022, the athlete from São Paulo prepared by Vitor Bizzo and Marcello Alfonsi won two titles in the IFBB Pro League (“International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness Professional League”, which means Professional Fitness League of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness) this season, in addition to equaling Eduardo Corrêa’s debut at the Olympia, with a bronze medal on the most important stage on the planet.
A competitor in the 212 category, Garcia was already known nationally since he turned professional alongside Livinho and Vitor Porto at Mr. Olympia Brasil. However, it was this year that he caught the attention of the international media by presenting a rare set of volume, definition, symmetry and proportions in competitions held in the United States.
The bodybuilder’s competitive season began in early August, when he went to Florida and won the Tampa Pro. A few days later, he confirmed his potential by winning the Texas Pro title. The results, as well as the physique he presented, caused experts and fans to start speculating about what his debut at the Olympia would be like.
It was then that, in October, the athlete – who until then was still seen as a promise by many – proved to be a reality. After being placed in the first “call-out” of the Olympia alongside Keone Pearson, Shaun Clarida and Nihat Kaya, he took third place – the best debut of a 212 Brazilian in the championship in question since 2009.
In addition to his achievements on stage, Garcia’s year was also marked by a delicate moment. Months before the highlighted competitions, he had to momentarily interrupt his preparation due to kidney problems.
The way in which the 29-year-old athlete dealt with the situation made the setbacks make his journey towards the top of the sport even greater. For several experts, Garcia could fight for the world title in 2026.
