Martin Šmilňák, member of the National Council of the SR for KDH, will accept personal political responsibility in the coming days for the traffic accident on Sunday (December 28), after which alcohol was detected in his breath. Smilňák announced this in a video on the social network, in which he also apologized.

“Today I owe you all an apology and I ask for your forgiveness. I have worked with young people all my life and I am especially sorry that I offended. And since politicians are supposed to be responsible, in the coming days I will also accept personal political responsibility.” Smilňák said in the video.
The Šmilňák traffic accident occurred on Sunday afternoon between the villages of Gaboltov and Sveržov. The police measured 0.48 per mille of alcohol in his blood after the collision with the deer, which died. Smilňák’s driver’s license was confiscated. The case is handled by an authorized member of the district traffic inspectorate in Bardejov.
