New Year’s Eve in Paulista: find out how the subway will work

Party is free and starts at 1:30 pm; in total there will be 14 hours of shows with some of the biggest names in Brazilian music playing for free to the population

The São Paulo subway will have a special operation this Wednesday (31) and Thursday (1) because of the which starts at 1:30 pm and will feature several musical attractions. The programming is free, suitable for the whole family and is expected to reach more than 8 million people. In total there will be 14 hours of shows with some of the biggest names in Brazilian music playing for free to the population.

So that people can enjoy the entire event, there will be uninterrupted circulation, with all transfers open, and on January 1st the fare will be free.

Those going to enjoy the traditional New Year’s Eve on Avenida Paulista will be able to count on contactless payment directly at the turnstiles, using physical debit or credit cards, according to Metrô. However, the method will be available at Brigadeiro, Trianon-Masp and Consolação stations, on Line 2-Green, the closest to the New Year’s Eve event.

How will the subway work?

Consolação Station (Line 2-Green)

It will be closed from 10am on the 31st and will only reopen at 4:40am on the 1st of January;

Paraíso, Brigadeiro and Trianon-Masp

They will be open throughout the night for boarding and disembarking, including with the ticket offices open.

Lines 1-Blue, 2-Green, 3-Red and 15-Silver

They will remain open for boarding and disembarking until 2am on the 1st, after which they will only be open for disembarking.

Line 4-Yellow

The Paulista-Pernambucanas and Higienópolis-Mackenzie stations will be open 24 hours a day for boarding passengers, while the others will only be open for disembarking.
