Among the main results, the Military Police seized 36 firearms and almost 100 bladed weapons during approaches and strategic operations. Seizures are considered fundamental to reducing violence in the region, as they remove lethal instruments from the hands of criminals and directly contribute to the preservation of lives.
According to Captain Thales Campos, acting commander of the 6th BPM, a significant part of this result is the result of the 35 integrated operations carried out throughout the year, including the “Tranca-Forte” operation, which included joint action from other public security forces and support from the Brazilian Army. In these actions alone, around 50 thousand people were approached.
In addition to the weapons, the operations resulted in the seizure of more than 340 kilos of narcotics, causing a loss of more than R$2 million to drug trafficking. In total, approximately 1,100 people were taken to the police station, including 68 minors, and more than 160 arrest warrants were served during routine stops.
The commander highlighted that the overt presence of the PM and the integration between the security forces resulted in a reduction in theft and robbery rates compared to previous years. “The Military Police will never back down and will fulfill its mission of bringing peace and tranquility to Acre society, especially to the population of Vale do Juruá”, stated Captain Thales Campos.
In parallel with the repressive actions, the 6th Battalion maintained investments in preventive programs, such as Proerd, the Community Police and the Junior Guard, reinforcing the corporation’s commitment not only to the direct fight against crime, but also to prevention and rapprochement with the community.
