The poet, lawyer and influencer Dudu Morais, 32 years old, was found dead on his rural property, in the city of Tabira, in the Sertão of Pernambuco, this Tuesday morning (12/30). The information was confirmed by the Civil Police, which is investigating the circumstances of the death. He leaves two daughters, Letícia, aged 14, and Maria Flor, aged one.

Known in legal circles as the Hat Lawyer, a nickname inspired by the accessory he used to wear during trials, Dudu was also active in literature and on the internet. On his profile, where he had more than 40 thousand followers, he used to recite the verses he wrote. In 2022, he launched the book of poetry De Suas do Meu Chapéu, bringing together original texts.
The National Union of Criminal Lawyers (Unaa) expressed regret over the lawyer’s death. “His presence and his voice leave a permanent mark on criminal law and on everyone who walked with him. Our solidarity with his family, friends and colleagues, with best wishes for serenity in this moment of pain”, says the note.
In 2019, Dudu Morais was involved in a criminal case in which he was accused of killing his own uncle, Clênio Evandro Cordeiro, aged 42, after a disagreement. At the end of the trial, he was acquitted of the murder charge.
