Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Domen Prevc also won the qualification for the New Year’s competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The Slovenian high-flyer reached 139.5 m in front of 7,000 spectators on New Year’s Eve and relegated the ÖSV eagles Jan Hörl and Stephan Embacher to second and third place. Embacher jumped a hill record of 145.5 m and snatched it away from his ex-teammate Michael Hayböck (145.0). The third best Austrian was Manuel Fettner (142.5 m) in seventh place.
