The roads that are part of the 15 km race will be closed from 3 am this Wednesday (31)
The last day of 2025 will see changes to traffic in the city of São Paulo due to the 100th São Silvestre International Race and New Year’s Eve. The roads that are part of the 15 km race will be closed from 3 am this Wednesday, 31st (find out all the affected roads below).
The route starts on Avenida Paulista and passes through important avenues in the center of São Paulo – Dr. Arnaldo, Pacaembu, Marquês de São Vicente, Rudge, Rio Branco, Ipiranga, São João, Duque de Caxias and Brigadeiro Luís Antônio.
The Santos and São Carlos do Pinhal avenues, parallel to Paulista, will also be closed during the race and New Year’s party. Roads that cross Paulista will also have their intersection closed.
The Traffic Engineering Company (CET) recommends using the metro. During the race, there will be 176 agents on the streets to guide alternative routes for vehicles.
What time will the test be?
The start of the race begins at 7:25 am. The forecast is to begin demobilizing the road blocks around noon. Avenida Paulista, however, will remain closed, in both directions, between Ruas Teixeira da Silva and Rua da Consolação, due to New Year’s Eve programming.
From 12pm onwards, CET will assess the conditions on Paulista to allow or not allow traffic at the intersection with Avenida Brigadeiro Luís Antônio.
The avenue will open to the public on New Year’s Eve at 1pm. The musical programs start at 1:30 pm and run until 2:40 am on Thursday, 1st.
Paulista will be closed in its entirety until 8am on the 1st.
