Security for the New Year’s Eve party Paulista avenue It will have a staff of 4,500 agents, including 1,100 municipal police, 1,950 military police and 1,500 private security agents. In an interview with Live CNN this Wednesday (31), Orlando MorandoSecretary of Urban Security of São Paulo, detailed the scheme prepared for the event that should bring together approximately 2 million people.
Safety planning began to be implemented at 5 am this Wednesday, with the participation of 55 thousand runners. The agents will remain on the avenue until the last patron leaves the area in the early hours of the 1st.
Search and monitoring scheme
All people who access Avenida Paulista for the shows will go through a search process. The security scheme will have 190 program cameras installed in the region. As a security measure, umbrellas, coolers with drinks and beach chairs, objects that could cause injuries in the event of a disturbance, will not be allowed to enter.
Orlando Morando highlighted that “the party is for the family” and that people need to feel protected and safe. “We have an operation set up for that night to curb the so-called beatings that lead to social disturbances and cause serious problems in the city. So, there is a plan for Paulista, but also for the entire city of São Paulo”, he explained.
Special programming and structure
The New Year’s Eve program will begin at 1:30 pm with gospel performances, including God’s lap, Friar Gilson e Father Marcelo Rossi. Afterwards, they will take the stage João Gomes, Belo, Simone Mendes, Maiara and Maraísa, ending with Latino in 2026. At midnight, there will be fireworks lasting 15 minutes.
