Between January and November, there were 202,000 arrests and seizures during police actions across the state
A and the Civil Police of intensified actions to combat crime in 2025 and consistently increased the number of arrests and seizures of offenders in the state and in the capital of São Paulo.
In the first 11 months of 2025 (January to November), 202,321 people were arrested or apprehended throughout the state of São Paulo, an increase of 9.3% compared to the same period in 2024. The volume is equivalent to an average of 607 arrests or seizures per day in São Paulo, a result of the integrated work of the security forces.
In the capital, the advance was even more significant. In the same period, the police arrested or apprehended 43,845 offenders, an increase of 10% compared to the first 11 months of last year. The number represents an average of 131 people arrested or apprehended per day in the city of São Paulo alone.
Arrest occurs when the perpetrator of the crime is over 18 years old and seizure refers to criminal acts committed by teenagers, as provided for by legislation. The increase in and seizures directly contributes to removing criminals from the streets and reducing recidivism, strengthening the security of the São Paulo population.
