The Algarve once again stood out on the national tourism scene in November 2025, with growth in overnight stays and, above all, a strong acceleration in revenue, according to information released today by Turismo do Algarve, based on data now published by the National Statistics Institute ().
According to the note, in the penultimate month of the year the region recorded a 3.5% increase in overnight stayssignaling consistent demand in a period traditionally associated with the low season.
One of the main highlights was the contribution of domestic marketcom as resident overnight stays rising 22.1%the highest growth among all regions of the country, reinforcing the weight of national tourism in boosting Algarve activity outside of the summer.
In economic terms, the Algarve showed a particularly strong performance: total income increased by 12.5% and the room revenue grew 15.3%placing the region as the one that registered the best evolution in value at national level.
The region also maintained one of the highest average stays in the countrycom 3.49 nightsabove the national average of 2.32 nightsan indicator that, according to Turismo do Algarve, reflects demand with greater permanence and economic impact.
No municipal cut, Portimão stood out with a 19.9% growth in overnight staysdriven mainly by the internal market, which registered an increase of 49,9%one of the most impressive performances among the main Portuguese tourist municipalities.
