Ukrainian drone strikes damaged Russian infrastructure important for military financing. As a result, there were fires and injuries near critical objects.
Ukrainian drones hit a large fuel depot in the Yaroslavl region northeast of Moscow, causing a fire there, officials of Ukraine’s secret service (SBU) said on Wednesday. TASR informs about it according to the report of the DPA agency.
“The SBU continues with surgical precision to disrupt supplies of Russian oil products abroad and also for the troops attacking Ukraine,” the Ukrinform agency quoted the unnamed official as saying. The news agency released a video showing a large fire, although the exact location could not be identified. Russia did not comment on the report.
Ukrainian drones also attacked other targets in Russia on Wednesday. In the south of the Krasnodar region, according to local officials, a fire broke out in an oil refinery in the Black Sea port of Tuapse. Local authorities reported that the flames were extinguished. Two people were reportedly injured in the drone attack, and five houses and a gas pipeline were also damaged, according to the statement. Referring to the opinion of the general staff in Kyiv, the Reuters agency states that the equipment of the refinery and two piers were also damaged.
Ukraine is targeting the Russian oil industry in its attacks, which is important for financing the Russian war, DPA reminds.
