Although Poles eat meat much more often than most Europeans, we do not always pay attention to its quality and degree of processing. Meanwhile, some popular products can seriously affect your health.
The World Health Organization has been warning against excessive eating of red and highly processed meat for years. Beef, pork, lamb and veal contain large amounts of saturated fats i cholesterol. Their regular consumption increases the risk of atherosclerosis, circulatory system diseases and heart attack. In turn, processed meats are often enriched with preservatives, nitrites, dyes and flavor enhancers. It is their combination that is responsible for the increase in the incidence of gastrointestinal cancer, especially the large intestine.

Fried bacon is considered a delicacy, but in terms of health it is one of the worst choices. During processing, nitrosamines are formed in it, i.e substances with proven carcinogenic effects.
