Dozens of international aid organizations in the Palestinian territories, including Doctors Without Borders (MSF), Oxfam, Save the Children and Care, are threatened with closure. Since January 1st, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that have not completed registration required by Israel are no longer allowed to operate. They must permanently cease their activities in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank by March next year. “The registration requirement serves to prevent the involvement of terrorist elements and protect the integrity of humanitarian work,” said a statement from the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
