One person died and two are in serious condition after an avalanche hit a group of four people this Friday in Cúneo, in the Piedmont region, in Italy.

According to the Italian news agency ANSA, which cites data from the authorities, in addition to the fatal victim, at least two other people were rescued and are in serious condition.
The alert was given shortly after 13:00 (12:00 in Lisbon).
Alpine rescue teams, emergency medical teams and police forces continue to carry out work in the area.
This is the second avalanche this week which caused fatalities in Europe, after three people died in the Spanish Pyrenees on Monday.
The victims were caught in the snow when skiing and a fourth person was rescued from the same location with “slight hypothermia”, according to the regional government of Aragon (northeast Spain).
