The former presidential advisor was arrested this Friday morning (2) at his home, in Ponta Grossa (PR), and taken to a prison in the city.
Three Federal Police agents served the preventive arrest warrant determined by the minister of the Federal Supreme Court.
Preventive detention was ordered after he allegedly violated one of the precautionary measures imposed, not accessing social media. According to the minister, the former advisor had carried out research on the LinkedIn platform.
When taking Martins away, however, the police did not give him or his lawyers an explanation.
The former advisor was convicted of participating in the coup plot, for having collaborated with the so-called coup draft, which he denies. He is not yet serving his final sentence because appeals over the sentence have not yet been exhausted.
