The Federal Police (PF) ordered the return of former federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro to the position of clerk of the corporation, from which he had been licensed to exercise his parliamentary mandate until he was revoked for misconduct. The act was signed by the substitute people management director Licinio Nunes de Moraes Netto on December 31st, and published this Friday in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU). Throughout 2025, Eduardo was the target of administrative disciplinary proceedings for carrying out attacks on the PF and publicly threatening federal delegates.
The publication mentions Eduardo’s “immediate return” “for exclusively declaratory purposes and regularization of his functional situation” to his position at the Federal Police Station in Angra dos Reis (DPF/ARS/RJ), headed by delegate Clayton Lúcio Santos de Souza.
“Unjustified absence may lead to the adoption of appropriate administrative and disciplinary measures”, highlights the document.

Mandate revoked
Eduardo had his mandate revoked by the Board of Directors of the Chamber on the 18th due to administrative acts signed by the president of the House, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), and other members of the management, without a vote in plenary. He has been in the United States since February 2025.
Based on article 55 of the Constitution, the decision states that the deputy lost his position “for failing to attend, in the current legislative session, a third of the deliberative sessions of the Chamber of Deputies”, which authorizes automatic impeachment due to an administrative act.
The former parliamentarian is also a defendant in the Federal Supreme Court (STF) for the crime of coercion during the process. According to the complaint from the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), his stay in the USA, where he worked to coordinate sanctions against Brazilian authorities, sought to pressure and intimidate the STF on the eve of the trial that convicted former president Jair Bolsonaro of an attempted coup d’état.
“The serious threat materialized through the articulation and obtaining of sanctions from the government of the United States of America, with the application of export tariffs to Brazil, suspension of visas and the application of the Magnitsky Law to this reporting minister”, said minister Alexandre de Moraes at the time, one of the targets of American sanctions.
As Eduardo did not present a formal response to the accusation, the Federal Public Defender’s Office (DPU) took over his defense. The body claims that the defendant’s statements in which he defended United States sanctions against Brazilian authorities were made as part of his mandate as deputy and should be protected by parliamentary immunity.
PF disciplinary process
In September 2025, the PF also opened administrative disciplinary proceedings against Eduardo to investigate the former parliamentarian’s actions in the United States for imposing sanctions on Brazil. The representation was filed by the Minister of the General Secretariat, Guilherme Boulos (Psol), at that time still a federal deputy, with the aim of “dismissing Eduardo from his position as clerk”.

Over the last year, Jair Bolsonaro’s son has also been involved in controversy by criticizing and threatening federal delegates in public. In July, during a live broadcast, he made threats to the corporation two days after an operation that targeted his father.
The parliamentarian attacked police officers and cited delegate Fábio Shor, responsible for the main investigations against Bolsonaro. The general director of the PF, Andrei Rodrigues, treated the statements as a “cowardly attempt at intimidation”. Eduardo was already the target of another administrative disciplinary procedure at the beginning of the year for previous statements against Shor.
“Come on, Federal Police puppy who’s watching me, let me know. If I find out who you are, I’ll move here. Ask that police chief Fábio Alvarez Shor if he knows us”, stated the congressman about the corporation’s recent actions.

After the attacks, Rodrigues said that the PF would adopt the appropriate legal measures, including new attacks in the investigations already underway:
“I have already formally forwarded to the Intelligence Directorate the videos in which the citizen threatens the STF and the PF, for judicial police actions”, informed Andrei Rodrigues at the time.
