President Lula’s party shared news about the government’s economic indices, such as the unemployment rate and inflation
This Thursday (January 1, 2026) the (Workers’ Party) posted a video on its Instagram profile in reaction to criticism directed at Havaianas on social media. The content brings together headlines about government economic indicators (PT) and ironizes the idea that the results would be the result of “luck”.
In the caption of the video, the party wrote: “Is that what they call starting the year off on the right foot?! That’s right… It was never luck, it was always work!”. The material uses excerpts from reports and official data to support the message.
Among the indicators highlighted by PT are:
“Is this what they call starting the year on the right foot?” says the PT in a video published on social media
The video includes the phrase “And isn’t Lula really a lucky guy?”used in an ironic way to reinforce the thesis that the results result from public policies, and not from chance.
The publication comes after Havaianas received criticism for an advertising campaign starring actress Fernanda Torres. In a video on the brand’s Instagram, the actress says she doesn’t want people “start the year off on the right foot”a phrase interpreted by the public as a political allusion.
Here is what Fernanda says: “I’m sorry, but I don’t want you to start 2026 on the right foot. It’s nothing against luck. But, let’s face it, luck doesn’t depend on you, it depends on luck. What I want is for you to start the new year with 2 feet. 2 feet in the door, 2 feet on the road, 2 feet in the jackfruit, 2 feet wherever you want. Go with everything, body and soul, from head to toe”.
