Stifling for SND, Oliver Andrásy charged Ťapáková: When you were in Markíz, so… Harsh words!

He captures it from all sides! Oliver Andrásy is enjoying a well-deserved retirement, but public events are still at the heart of his day. The scandal surrounding the statements to Táňa Pauhofová, Roman Poláčik, Martin Šalácha, Anna Magdaléna Hroboňová and Daniel Žulčák really raised the pressure on him. The producer also openly questions talk of savings, consolidation and cost reduction in the Slovak National Theater and took aim at its temporarily appointed head, Zuzana Ťapáková.

He has known the manager well since the days when she held the reins at Markíz and he produced flagship projects for television such as Dereš and Aj múdry schybí. Andrásy is now taking Ťapáková on the social network for the reasons why she once ended up in Záhorská Bystrica and asking if only he sees the same scenario as what is supposed to happen in SND.

“According to the statements of the competent authorities, the Slovak National Theater regularly sells out all its performances. Despite this, they reportedly fired five excellent actors who were awarded artistic prizes for reasons of saving. The general director of SND, Zuzana Ťapáková, made the decision. History seems to unbelievably repeat itself,” wrote Andrásy on the social network and captured the memory.

“When Ms. Ťapáková was the general director of Markíza, the situation was very similar. Markíza was the most watched television, they had a lot of advertising – and be amazed – despite this, it was in the red.” recalls the entertainer and producer, saying that it is “like if you have a restaurant that is full from morning to evening and the manager of the restaurant would tell the owners in the evening that they are at a loss and to bring money from home. It would probably be strange” adds. “The owners of Markíza solved it by replacing Zuzana Ťapáková with the Austrian Matthias Settele. And suddenly Markíza was profitable. Interesting,” Oliver thinks.

Andrásy returns to the present in an arc. “However, they fire popular actors in SND. Shouldn’t they fire someone completely different when the theater is at a loss with full audiences?! It seems that under the direction of Mrs. Ťapáková, the money tends to disappear somewhere every time, despite the fact that the institution is doing very well. And then, that miracles don’t happen!” growled the producer ironically.

The actions of the temporary head of the SND are a thorn in the side of several artists and have also outraged actors in the Czech Republic. What is actually going on? “That should be asked of the ‘temporarily’ appointed general director Ťapáková, who is only following the orders of ‘flat earthers’,” actress Kamila Magálová responded to Koktejl.sk.

On the contrary, the manager stands by her decision. Pre explained what is behind it and strongly rejects words about purges. “Nothing dramatic happens. Five actors will go from internal to external status. The theater laid off 795 employees from all areas and departments, including drama. The actors, unlike the others who were fired, will have external contracts and continue to play, and the audience will not be cut off.” Ťapáková told us.

She added online: “And as for Tána Pauhofová – she is on maternity leave and can also act on an external contract. In the meantime, mass layoffs are taking place from all other departments, as well as other institutions, and unfortunately, those people, indeed many, will remain on the street. And it doesn’t bother anyone! Because poor Táňa, who really has nothing to complain about. I think that even young actors could have a bit of modesty in them and not think that they are the navel of the world!”

We learned from the theater that Táňa Pauhofová is on parental leave and receives parental allowance and has an external contract with SND. “Many actors, such as Kamila Magálová, Zdena Studenková or Ján Koleník, work this way,” our source claims. The Ministry of Culture gave the opinion that savings are being made everywhere and managerial decisions are purely within the competence of the director and they do not interfere with her. Consolidation was ordered by the government and the ministry, and at least eight million euros are to be saved this year in culture alone.
