Czech actor Jiří Hálek († 90) during his career he starred in many films, series and fairy tales. The actor would have celebrated his 95th birthday on September 10, and on this occasion the website revealed the details of his privacy.
Hálek was the proud father of a daughter whose privacy he guarded, so he did not talk about her publicly. The love of his life was the screenwriter, dramaturg and writer Irena Charvátová, who was twelve years younger than him, whom he met in 1985, but at that time he was already 55 years old. They were a couple for twenty-three years.
Charvátová did not have an easy life. Her father died during the war and her mother died in Auschwitz. She herself grew up in an orphanage. In 2008, she fell ill and died at the age of 65. Haléka was crushed by the death of his beloved wife and he was no longer the same as before.
He refused all work and spent his last years in a home for the elderly in Říčany, where he had 24-hour care. The actor died in December 2020, three months after his 90th birthday. He died of natural causes in his sleep.
