Los Angeles (United States), 02/02/2025 – Actor Will Smith on the red carpet at the 67th annual Grammy Awards ceremony, at the Crypto.com Arena, in Los Angeles, California (USA), on February 2, 2025.

Actor and singer Will Smith is being sued by a violinist on his tour. The musician accuses Smith of sexual harassment, unfair dismissal and retaliation, according to Variety magazine and NBCNews. The news was also published in other vehicles in the United States this Thursday, 1.

Smith’s representatives were approached to comment, but had not yet commented when the case became public.

According to Variety, which says it had access to the terms of the accusation presented to the Court on Wednesday, 31, violinist Brian King Joseph holds Smith and Treyball Studios Management responsible for criminal conduct. The musician maintains that the actor adopted “predatory behavior” and enticed him for “subsequent sexual exploitation” during the “Based on a True Story: 2025” tour

In the initial petition, the musician alleges that Will Smith hired him in November 2024 for a performance in San Diego and then to go on tour. According to Variety, “as the relationship grew closer, Smith would have said to Joseph phrases such as: “you and I have such a special connection, that I don’t have with anyone else”, among other similar expressions”.

The musician reports that during his trip the key to his room at the hotel where the show team was staying disappeared. According to what he says, he discovered that an unidentified person had entered the room leaving objects such as baby wipes, a bottle of HIV medication with someone else’s name on it and a note that said: “Brian, I’ll be back at 5:30 at the latest, just the two of us (heart drawn), Stone F.”

The musician alleges in the lawsuit that the note was a warning that the person would return to his room to “perform sexual acts” with him.

The violinist said he notified the hotel and reported the matter to Smith’s team. Days later, he was told he was being fired for inventing the story about the room being invaded.
