Zohran Mamdani takes office as mayor of New York


New York – With the start of the new year, Zohran Mamdani has taken over as mayor of New York City. The left-liberal Democrat was sworn in shortly after New Year’s Eve (local time) in a small circle at the historic Old City Hall Station subway station in Manhattan. New York State Attorney General Letitia James took the oath of office. Mamdani placed his hand on a Koran. He is the first Muslim mayor of the largest city in the USA.
