Acre records almost 4,900 cases of Covid-19 and 24 deaths in 2025

Acre recorded 4,873 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 24 deaths by epidemiological week 49 of 2025, according to information from the State Department of Health (Sesacre).

The survey shows that, since the beginning of the pandemic, in 2020, the state recorded 444,878 notifications of the disease. Of this total, 176,241 were confirmed and 2,119 resulted in death. Analysis of the most recent period, between 2023 and 2025, indicates that the majority of cases occurred among people aged 40 to 49, with a predominance of females, who accounted for 62.8% of infections.

In relation to the ethnic-racial profile in 2025, the majority of cases were identified among brown people, who represented 67.6% of confirmations. Next come yellow people (13.5%), white people (12%), black people (2.4%) and indigenous people (0.3%). In the same period, the lethality of the disease in the state was 0.4%.

Deaths continue to be concentrated in the most vulnerable groups. Among the 79 deaths recorded from 2023 to 2025, most occurred in people over 60 years of age. The records show a similar distribution between men and women, and in 65.8% of cases there was the presence of comorbidities.

The accumulated incidence of Covid-19 in Acre, between 2023 and 2025, reached 1,985 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. Acrelândia had the highest rates, both in the period, with 3,867 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, and in 2025, when it reached 1,433 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. In the state, the incidence this year is 544.8 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.

Genomic surveillance data indicate that the Ômicron variant remains predominant in Acre. The analyzes identified six sublineages in circulation, with emphasis on JN.1, currently the most common in the country, as well as recombinant variants, such as XDR.
