Aldo considers Wajngarten for vice presidential race – 01/02/2026 – Panel

Aldo Rebelo, former PT government minister, and who participated in the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, have been talking about an alliance to contest the 2026 presidential election.

At the end of the year, he received from friends and businesspeople the suggestion that Wajngarten be his vice-president.

The pre-candidate for president told interlocutors that he liked the idea and consulted Wajngarten, who was also enthusiastic about the possibility.

The idea would be to form a national-conservative alliance, combining Aldo’s nationalist positions with Wajngarten’s movement on the right and good entry into the media and advertising market.

The strategy would be to present as many candidates as possible in opposition to Lula, so that everyone could unite in the second round against the PT member.

Aldo spent decades of his political life at PCdoB, occupying portfolios such as Defense, Institutional Relations, Sports and Science and Technology, in the Lula and Dilma Rousseff governments. He was also president of the Chamber of Deputies. In recent years, however, he has distanced himself from the left.

Wanjgarten, who was the Presidency’s Secretary of Social Communication, has been one of Bolsonaro’s most faithful advisors, acting as a lawyer, press advisor and political strategist for the former president.

The launch of Aldo’s pre-candidacy is initially scheduled for January 31st at the headquarters of the Engineers Union, in São Paulo.
