Artificial Intelligence agent Grok from the social network X acknowledged having published sexual images of minors on the platform, admitting it was a crime. The tool identified flaws in safeguards and committed to urgently correcting them.
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) agent of (formerly Twitter), acknowledged this Friday that sexual images of minors were published on its platform using that technology, and admitted it was a crime.
Grok said he was working on an agreement, as it could face punishment in the United States if you do not take action.
Responding to a report of a case involving a minor, Grok said he had “failures in safeguards identified” of X and that would “correct them urgently”declared that “child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is illegal and prohibited” and stated that xAI, his company, is “committed to avoiding these problems.”
In another response, it states that under US federal law and other rules, “a company could face criminal or civil penalties if it knowingly facilitates, or fails to prevent, AI-generated CSAM after being alerted”adding that the consequences vary depending on the jurisdiction or evidence of inaction.
X subscribers generated non-consensual images with AI
On Thursday, Grok responded, in a less serious tone, to these reports about AI images of women in bikinis or little clothing, explaining that “There are isolated cases in which users requested and received AI images depicting minors with minimal clothing” and that “xAI has safeguards, but improvements are underway to completely block these requests.”
The message comes after reports that X Premium subscribers are using Grok’s AI to generate non-consensual images of people – mostly women – in bikinis or underweara worrying trend, which led users from all over the world to ask for greater restrictions on the tool and the elimination of the content generated.

The tycoon Elon Muskplatform owner, downplayed the allegations on Thursday by publishing a photo of herself in a bikiniafter asking Grok to modify an AI-generated image of another person of this type to look like him, a request that the tool performed without problems, and commented: “Perfect.”
For its part, the French government announced this Friday that it presented a complaint to the Court and the illegal online content verification body Pharos against generative intelligence Grok of the social network X for creating and disseminating “content of a sexist and sexual nature”.

In a joint statement, the Economy Ministers, Roland Lescure; of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy, Anne Le Henanff; and Equality between Men and Women, Aurore Bergéannounced that they took this decision based on the article 40 of the Penal Code.
The measure comes after the alleged use of the Grok platform to create and disseminate “content of a sexist and sexual nature, namely fake videos (‘deepfakes‘) involving people, without their consent”indicated those responsible.
