In the life of an actress and singer Zuzana Haasová (44) two miracles happened at the age of forty. In 2022, she perfectly concealed her pregnancy until the birth, and the same scenario was repeated last year. However, everyone understood her decision, as she lost two babies in the past – Karolínka and Šimonka. For now she revealed that she also had an incredible fear with Johannka, who was born last January.
Haas’s last daughter was born prematurely, and they brought her home only after spending two months in the hospital. At the same time, however, her eldest child Romi was diagnosed with whooping cough, and the actress almost died of fear.
“Imagine that you come home with a baby from the incubator and there is whooping cough in the room. Romi immediately burst into tears. And I was terribly worried, first of all, about Johannka, because she had not been vaccinated. It must be said that especially babies die from this outdated disease. Johannka could not be vaccinated because she was too tiny. On the other hand, I was also worried about Roma, although she was vaccinated as a child. And last but not least, about Marina. It was an incredible triple fear,” she said.
Although Haas was after a difficult birth, she mobilized and disinfected the entire household as if in a hospital. She also consulted the doctor about the situation, who was also thinking about what to give or not to give such a small baby to protect him. In the end, they decided to vaccinate her and put her on antibiotics. Fortunately, the little one did not get infected.
“No one really knows what causes whooping cough and how to treat it. Such an old disease from the distant past has returned to the world again, and no one really knows it. We had to isolate Romi, she immediately went to a friend. Of course, she was also very scared that she brought home something that is extremely dangerous. She was crying, I had to comfort her and at the same time solve the situation,” said the actress.
He was born to Johannka, but her older sister Marínka became infected. who was constantly choking with coughing and vomiting at the same time. Haas described it as a horror that no one wants to experience. After healing, however, the suffocation in both girls lasted for another 90 days, however, they were lucky to have been vaccinated.
“Marína was a little better because she didn’t need oxygen like Roma. The doctor told me that a large percentage of children are not vaccinated against this disease. And since she seemed to awake from sleep, it’s circling here and it’s a big problem. Unfortunately, nothing can be done because there are people who have their own opinion on vaccination. At the same time, the doctor told me that those who are vaccinated have an easier course. I can’t imagine what unvaccinated children and people in general must go through when my babies were vaccinated and had really terrible conditions.” she explained.
She added that the oldest Roma most likely got infected on the bus and sent a clear message to Slovaks. “I want to emphasize that whatever opinion people have about vaccination, in our case it was vaccination that saved my babies and they didn’t die,” the actress concluded coldly.
