The 31st edition of Critics Choice Awards takes place this Sunday night (4), starting at 9pm, with a ceremony focused on celebrating popular productions, covering the most diverse genres of cinema and TV, such as action, drama, horror, science fiction and fantasy.
Brazil is represented at the awards in three categories — all involving the actor Wagner Moura49.
The Brazilian star was nominated for the Best Actor in a Film for “The Secret Agent” e Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for “Drug Thieves”. “The Secret Agent” appears in Best International Film category.
In the Best Actor category, Wagner Moura became the first Brazilian nominated and will compete for the award against Timothée Chalamet (“Marty Supreme”), Joel Edgerton (“Train Dreams”), Michael B. Jordan (“Sinners”), Leonardo DiCaprio (“One Battle After Another”) and Ethan Hawke (“Blue Moon”).
The nomination for the Critics Choice Awards, including strengthens the Brazilian’s name in the season for a possible Oscar nomination. The nominees will be revealed on the day January 22nd.
